Why Poke Card Values Was Created
Our mission was simple: to provide a straightforward, rapid, and cost-free solution for assessing and tracking the value of Pokemon cards, accessible to enthusiasts of all expertise levels. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just curious about the worth of a rediscovered stash in your attic, Poke Card Values is your ultimate resource.
Kickstarting Your Journey
Begin by signing up for a free account. This will allow you to add cards to your Collection, where you can easily track the Total Value and Total Number of Cards. Additionally, you can tailor the Condition and Quantity of each card in your Collection directly from your Dashboard. For those aiming to complete sets, our Set page facilitates this with three distinct levels of completion:
- Basic: Includes one of each standard card, excluding holo variations and promos.
- Master: Comprises one of each standard card along with every holo variation, excluding promos.
- Expert: Encompasses every card in the set, including all holo variations and promos.
Our Valuation Process
We leverage a bespoke search algorithm to estimate card values, drawing on eBay UK sales data from the past 90 days. Only completed sales are considered, ensuring our valuations are always current and reliable, with updates occurring approximately every 10 days. Our detailed search includes conditions such as NM/M, PSA 8, PSA 9, and PSA 10 for every card, setting benchmarks for all other conditions.
Shipping costs are excluded from our valuations to focus solely on the card's value. Our methodology is as follows:
- If shipping costs are under £0.95, we adjust the total price by subtracting £0.95, accounting for the inclusion of shipping in the item's price.
- For shipping costs of £0.96 or above, only the item's price is considered.
*Our shipping cost adjustment is based on an estimate covering a stamp, bubble envelope, toploader, and sleeve, ensuring cards are shipped properly.
Calculating Set Completion Values
To estimate the value of completing sets at Basic, Master, and Expert levels, we calculate the total NM/M value of cards within each tier, derive an average card value, and then multiply by the total number of cards required. For cards lacking price data, we assign a nominal value of £0.50.
These estimates serve as a general guide. The absence of pricing for highly valuable cards, or an abundance of reverse holos in a Basic completion, can significantly influence the average value. The most accurate valuation of your collection comes from adding your cards to your Collection on your Dashboard, enabling detailed insights and specific set filtering.
